“The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.” – Amelia Earhart

Jamie Clark, CFP®

Financial Planner

Jamie enjoys helping early- to mid-career clients design their maximum life: balancing savings for financial independence, homebuying, and college education with investments for various goals and spending for today. They enjoy helping clients put together all of the pieces that make up the whole of their financial lives.

Jamie comes to financial planning with an appreciation for connecting client stories with their finances. Their grandfather was a high school math teacher, and it wasn’t uncommon for the Clark family to discuss topics like saving, budgeting, and the best time to take the Canadian version of Social Security. Before pivoting their career to financial planning, Jamie worked for a decade as a software engineer with many big industry players including Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, and BlackBerry. They’ve always loved puzzles, math, and spreadsheets, so financial planning was an obvious fit.

Jamie has a Bachelor of Computer Science with Joint Honours in French from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. They’re also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a member of the Financial Planning Association of Puget Sound, and a VITA Volunteer at the Seattle Public Library, preparing tax returns for lower-income households.

An avid reader, Jamie reads on average a book per week. While working from home, they created a morning and evening walk commute around their neighborhood. In more normal times, they take regular trips to Canada to visit family.
